You will still be allowed to receive a meal, but you will need the charge slip before you will be able to pick up your food. Any student who needs a Free/Reduced Lunch application form, we have extra forms in the office.

If you are a student who is bringing your own computer to school this year, please register your device as soon as possible. To register your device visit the Forbush High School website, hover over students and select, Register Your Device. This step is essential in being able to help you solve issues that may come up with your device throughout the year.

This Friday, September 1, is Picture Day for students in grades 9-11. Students will have their pictures taken in the auditorium.

Good evening, this is Mr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

We have one week until students return to school, so I have a few important dates I need to remind everyone about coming up this week:

On Wednesday, August 16, from 8am to noon, students in grades 10, 11, and 12 are welcome to pick up paperwork for their Chromebooks, parking passes, and their schedules.

On Thursday, August 17, our campus will be open from 10am to 7pm for students and parents to meet with teachers, as well as pick up paperwork for Chromebooks, parking passes, and schedules.

All students will be dismissed at noon on Monday. For the remainder of the week, the school day will begin at 8:15 and end at 3:10. Our new bell schedule can be found on our web site.

I have two additional announcements this evening:

We have had several parents contact us because they received an email from an organization that appeared to be connected to Forbush High School. Unfortunately, there are people who attempt to mislead parents and students by asking for membership fees for organizations that do not really exist or do not have any value. If you get an email asking for a membership fee from someone who is not a Forbush employee and you are not certain if it is legitimate, please feel free to forward the email to me or to one of our counselors. We will be happy to verify the organization for you if you are uncertain. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

I want to congratulate our cheerleading squad for their recent performance at their summer camp. Our JV team won the “superior” award and the varsity team finished runner-up in their division while also earning best dance routine. In addition, Gabby Grooms and Lakyn Holleman were selected to the All-American team and will have the opportunity to represent North Carolina by cheering at the Florida Citrus Bowl in January. Congratulations to Gabby, Lakyn, and the entire cheerleading team.

That is all the announcements I have for this evening. Please be sure to check out our web site and follow us on Twitter and Facebook for daily updates. Thank you for your time this evening, goodnight.
