Principal's Message - 9/25/16

Good evening, this is Mr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I hope everyone had a great weekend. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

I want to begin this evening by reminding everyone that there will be no school for students tomorrow (Monday, September 26). Tomorrow will be a teacher workday and students will return to school on Tuesday.

I also want to remind our parents and students about the importance of sportsmanship at all Forbush athletic events. I was recently made aware of an incident involving a Forbush parent or fan who directed racist and profane comments toward a game official at a recent sporting event. It is important for all students, parents, and fans to understand that this sort of behavior will not be tolerated. Fans caught acting in such a manner will be ejected and banned from all Forbush events, home and away. Please help us maintain our reputation as an institution of character and class.

School Counseling Department
Attention all 10th and 11th grade students. Sign-ups for PSAT will run through October 7th and the cost is $15. Please see Mrs. Monroe in guidance to sign up. There are a limited number of spots available so please sign up as soon as possible. The PSAT will take place on October 19th during school.

Seniors, mark your calendars for a Financial Aid Workshop on October 4 at 6pm in the auditorium. If you are planning to attend college next year and need money to help pay for college, this is the perfect workshop for you to attend. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Mitze in the counseling department. Again, this Financial Aid Workshop is scheduled for October 4 at 6pm in our auditorium.
