Principal's Message - 1/1/17

Good evening, this is Mr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

I want to begin this evening by wishing everyone in the Forbush community a Happy New Year. I hope everyone had a relaxing Holiday season and we are all looking forward to the start of 2017.

I want to remind everyone that there will be no school for students tomorrow (Monday, January 2), or Tuesday (January 3). Students will return to school on Wednesday, January 4.

First semester exam week will be January 9 through 13. Detailed information regarding the exam schedule can be found on our web site at the bottom of the home page under “Latest News.” Teachers have also gone over the exam schedule with their classes. Please visit our website and read through the information regarding the exam schedule if you have not already. You are more than welcome to call or email me if you have any questions.

Forbush Elementary School will be hosting a Blood Drive on Tuesday, January 10 from 1pm to 6pm. The Blood Drive will be held in memory of Marshall Baker, a Forbush High student who passed away recently after a long battle with cancer. You can register for the Blood Drive online through the American Red Cross or you can call FES at 336-699-8447 to schedule an appointment.

Students who have accumulated more than 8 unexcused absences during the fall semester are asked to pick up their attendance appeals paperwork in the Pass Room on Friday after 1:30pm. All paperwork is due on Friday, January 13, in order to be considered. Please see Mrs. Baity, an administrator, or your teachers if you have a question about your attendance in a particular class.
