Principal's Message - 5/13/18

Good evening, this is Mr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

Final Exams

I want to begin this evening by reminding everyone that final exams are scheduled to begin this Friday, May 18. First period state exams will be given this Friday. The last day of final exams will be Thursday, May 24. For detailed information about our exam schedule, please visit our website and scroll to the bottom under “Latest News.”

YCS Board of Education Student Representative

Juniors, if you are interested in serving as the Student Representative for the Yadkin County Board of Education next year, please submit a 1-to-2 page essay detailing why you believe you are the best person to serve in this role. Please turn in this essay and an updated resume to the main office by Wednesday, May 16.

Attendance Appeals

Students, if you have more than 8 unexcused absences this semester, you are in violation of the attendance policy and risk losing credit for some or all of your courses. Please pick up your Attendance Appeals paperwork from the Pass Room this Thursday, May 17, during 3rd period. Spring Attendance Appeals are due Wednesday, May 23 in the front office.

School Counseling Office

Students, if you are interested in Surry classes, Mrs. Pennix's last day at Forbush for this school year is May 15. If you need Mrs. Pennix's contact information, please see Mrs. Monroe or Ms. Mitze.

Seniors, are you planning to go directly to work after high school? If so, please plan to meet with Rachel Hiatt with JobsConnect on May 15 during all lunches in the A-Building lobby.

Upcoming Events

This year’s Academic Banquet is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, May 14. This event will begin at 6pm at the Clemmons Village Inn and Conference Center.

Our final Chorus Concert for the school year is scheduled for Tuesday, May 15. This concert will begin at 6:30pm in the Forbush Auditorium.

The JROTC End of Year Ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, May 16. This event will begin at 6pm in the Forbush Auditorium.
