Principal's Message - 10/14/18

Good evening, this is Mr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

Student Accomplishments
Please join me in congratulating some of our students on their recent accomplishments. First, congratulations to Brady Miller, who was recently accepted into the North Carolina Honors Chorus. This is the highest achievement a high school choral student can receive in the state!

Congratulations to our women’s volleyball team on clinching the conference championship last week. Their season is not yet over, as the conference tournament and the state tournament are right around the corner!

Finally, congratulations to Mallory Fobes, who won another individual conference championship in women’s golf last week. Mallory is now preparing for the Regional Tournament and State Tournament coming up over the next two weeks.

Student Services Department
Parents, if you do not have access to the Parent Portal to see your child’s grades, please give us a call and ask to speak with our Data Manager, Cheryl Hutchens. We can provide the information you need to set up an account so that you can view your child’s grades from a computer or a smartphone.

In honor of Free College Application Week, we will celebrate our post-secondary opportunities with a College Spirit Week this week. Each day next week will have a theme. The Student Services Office will also be giving away prizes over the course of the week. Check out the announcements on our school website for a list of the different themes and activities associated with each day.

Clubs and Organizations

Are you interested in joining the swim team? If so, see coach Vestal (604G), coach Saddler (305C) or coach Beuter (202B) to pick up information and make sure you are on the sign up list. The season starts October 31.

FCCLA is sponsoring Paws for the Cause. Help FCCLA raise money for the Yadkin County Animal Shelter. We will be collecting money through this Wednesday and the first period classes that raises the most money will receive Bojangles biscuits for breakfast.
