Principal's Message - 10/28/18

Good evening, this is Mr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

Student Congratulations
I want to begin this evening by congratulating our Forbush High School Chorus on an excellent concert performed earlier this week. If you missed their Fall Concert, mark your calendars for our Winter Concert, scheduled for December 13.

Congratulations to our women’s tennis team on a successful season. Our team finished 13-6 on the season, including 8-4 in conference play. Additionally, Rachel Dixon and Bethanie Snow qualified for and competed in the Regionals Tournament last week. Congratulations to Rachel, Bethanie, and the entire women’s tennis team on a great season.

Congratulations to senior golfer Mallory Fobes on her performance at the State Tournament last week. Fobes shot a bogey-free, 3-under par 69 in her final round as a Falcon and finished second in the 1A/2A ranks. Congratulations Mallory!

Clubs and Organizations
Students and parents, the Induction Ceremony for Beta and NHS is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, October 29. This event will begin at 7pm in the Forbush Auditorium.

Students, if you are planning on participating in sports during the winter season, the first day of practice for winter sports is October 31. All student-athletes must have a valid and up-to-date physical as well as a signed concussion form in order to participate. Once again, the first day of winter sports practice is this Wednesday, October 31.

Anyone interested in taking the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Test, also known as the ASVAB, can sign up with LTC Brooks or MSG Hayes in room 130A. The test will be administered at FHS on November 13. Taking the test is NOT committing to military service but is a requirement for those who are considering one of the Armed Services.
