Principal's Message - 11/25/18

Good evening, this is Mr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I hope everyone has enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

NC Youth Legislative Assembly
Students, if you are interested in applying for the North Carolina Youth Legislative Assembly, please see Mrs. Whitley in Student Services for more information. The YLA gives high school students the chance to draft, debate, and vote on mock legislative bills while developing skills in research, interviewing, and policy writing. Once again, if you would like more information about this program, please see Mrs. Whitley in our Student Services office.

Forbush Fall Band Concert
The Forbush Fall Band Concert is scheduled for this Thursday, November 29. This event will begin at 7pm at Forbush Middle School and will feature bands from the high school and middle school. Dewey’s products will also be on sell that evening and the Band Boosters will be raffling a Dewey’s holiday basket.

Clubs and Organizations
The Forbush Junior Civitans are collecting coats for their 4th annual Coat Drive. You can donate your gently used coats this Wednesday, November 28 at our home basketball game.

If you ordered a chicken pie from Mr. Senter, the last day for pickup is tomorrow, Monday, November 26. Please pick up items in the Auto Shop at 3:10. Also, fruit and nut orders are due this week to Mr. Senter as well.

FFA invites you to learn how to make a Christmas wreath. Mr. Elliott will have a presentation for all interested students this Wednesday, November 28, from 3:15 to 4:30 in 518-E.

Students, the Forbush Angel Tree is now up, so please stop by the office if you would like to help those in need during the holiday season. Drop by the office, choose an ornament, shop for the gift listed, and return the gift (unwrapped) to the office. You will receive two hours of community service and help make someone’s holiday a little brighter this year!

Student Services
An admissions counselor from Campbell University will be on campus this Wednesday, November 28, at 2:00 to meet with prospective students. Students and parents, if you are interested in learning more about Campbell University, see Mrs. Monroe in Student Services to sign up.
