Principal's Message - 12/16/18

Good evening, this is Mr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

Changes to the Exam Schedule
I hope everyone enjoyed the snow last week and stayed safe in the storm. Because of the winter weather, we are making a slight adjustment to the exam schedule for this coming week. Tomorrow, Monday, December 17 will be a normal student day. This will be the final instructional day for all students and we will also administer teacher-made exams on this day. State exams will begin on Tuesday, December 18. We will administer first period exams on Tuesday, second period exams on Wednesday, third period exams on Thursday, and fourth period exams on Friday. Students, please be sure your chromebooks are fully charged this week for any online exams you will be taking. A detailed exam schedule can be found on our website. If you have any questions about the exam schedule, do not hesitate to call or email me.

Calendar Changes
The school district has approved some changes to the calendar due to the loss of days from the hurricane earlier in the semester and the snow last week. The following days in the spring semester will now be student days: January 7, February 8, March 18, April 22, and May 23. Once again, please note that the start of the spring semester will now be Monday, January 7. The updated calendar can be found on the Yadkin County Schools website.

Clubs and Organizations
The Forbush Winter Concert has been moved to tomorrow night, Monday, December 17, beginning at 6pm. Doors will open at 5:30pm and admission is only $5. Come on out and support the Forbush Chorus!

The Forbush Band program reminds you to visit their Holiday Dewey’s Store at Collide Church in Yadkinville to get last minute gifts and stocking-stuffers. Hours are Monday through Friday 4pm to 7pm, and on Saturdays from 12pm to 7pm, and Sundays from 1pm to 7pm. The store will be open through December 23.

Seniors, it is time to think about your Senior Page for the Yearbook. Go to the Forbush High School Website and click on the Yearbook Page under the Student Tab for all the information. Ads are due before the semester break. Remember, you pay and create your page online.

Home Athletic Events
Friday: Wrestling vs. Carver and East Wilkes

That is all for this evening. As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email me anytime. Also, please be sure to check out our web site and follow us on Twitter and Facebook for daily updates. Thank you for your time this evening, goodnight.
