Principal's Message - 12/23/18

Good evening, this is Mr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening. I want to begin this evening by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope everyone has a chance to relax over the Holiday break and enjoy some time with friends and family.

Spring Semester Begins January 7
As a reminder, the spring semester will begin on Monday, January 7. Students will report to their Homeroom class first thing that morning to pick up a copy of their Spring semester schedule.

Forbush Angel Tree Project
I want to thank all of the students, parents, and staff members who participated in the Forbush Angel Tree this year. Over $4,200 worth of gifts were donated to students and families in our community. A special thanks goes out to Renaee Gentry who helped organize the Angel Tree project again this year. Once again, thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Forbush Angel Tree.

Forbush Friends Feeding Friends Project
I also want to thank all of the students and staff members who collected and donated items for Friends Feeding Friends this year. Over 15,400 items were donated this year, which was three times higher than our goal! Overall, we collected 243 canned goods along with over $3,000 in donations, which will go a long way toward helping those in need in Yadkin County. Thank you to Matt Pruitt for organizing the drive this year and thank you to everyone who participated and made this event such a huge success!

That is all for this evening. Once again, I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email me anytime. Thank you for your time this evening, goodnight.
