Principal's Message - 1/13/19

Good evening, this is Mr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

Shore Scholars Programs
Students, there is a new scholarship opportunity available for current sophomores and juniors. The Shore Scholars program will begin next fall and students may apply in the Student Services office. The program is no cost to the student and financial assistance of up to $1,200 a year is available. The program also provides each student with a mentor within a peer cohort. If you have at least a 3.0 GPA and are seeking college or career training for after high school, see your counselor for an application in the Student Services office.

Student-Owned Devices
Students, if you are now bringing your own device to school and have not yet seen Mrs. Frazier to have its MAC address registered, please do so this week. There are changes coming to our networks and we want to be sure you will be able to access the internet following those changes.

Clubs and Organizations
Anyone interest in track and field this spring, please see one of the following coaches: Mr. Beuter in room 202-B, Mr. Hoots in room 411-D, or Mrs. Beuter in room 607-G. Also, please make sure you have a current physical and a completed concussion form by February 13th.

There will be an interest meeting for all girls interested in playing soccer this year on January 14th at 3:30 in Cafeteria 1. This meeting includes all returning players as well.

The Spring Driver’s Education course will begin January 22. You must have been born on or before July 28, 2004 to attend. There is no pre-registration and the classes will be held in the Media Center from 3:15 to 6:15. 100% attendance is required, the fee for joining is $65, and students must provide a notebook and pen. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Pruitt.
