Principal's Message - 8/4/19

Good evening, this is Dr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I hope everyone has had a relaxing weekend. With the start of the school year just one week away, I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

Open House
Open House and Freshman Orientation are scheduled for this week. Much like last year, Forbush High School will offer Open House at two different times. Open House will be held Wednesday, August 7, from 9am to noon, and Thursday, August 8, from 4pm to 7pm. These Open House times are intended for rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, and their parents (though freshmen and their parents are welcome to attend as well). Students may pick up schedules, meet with their teachers, purchase parking passes, and complete Chromebook lease paperwork during these times. As a reminder, a parent must be present to complete Chromebook lease paperwork.

Freshman Orientation
Freshman Orientation will be held on Wednesday, August 7, from 1pm to 3pm, beginning in the Forbush Gym. We invite all freshmen and their parents to this event so that we can help our freshmen become more acquainted with the school and visit their fall semester teachers.

Student Parking Passes
As a reminder, parking passes are now on sale for all students. Please visit the office after 1pm this week to purchase parking passes from Mrs. Dinkins. Please note, all current and past fees and student debt must be paid before students will receive their parking pass. Please visit our website and click on the link near the bottom of the home page under “Latest News” for detailed information regarding student parking passes.

First Day of School
The first day of school for students will be Tuesday, August 13.

That is all for this evening. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me anytime. As a reminder, please be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook to stay up-to-date on everything happening at FHS. Thank you for your time this evening, goodnight.
