Principal's Message - 10/27/19

Good evening, this is Dr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I hope everyone has had a relaxing weekend. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

Student Accomplishments
Congratulations to the Forbush JROTC Falcon Raider Team. They competed at West Rowan HS last weekend. Cadets ran a 5k with obstacles that included a tire flip, a fireman carry, and scaling a 10-foot wall. Cadets Ben Trivette and Perla Delgado finished in 2nd place in the Co-Ed Division.

Congratulations to our women’s tennis team on a historic season. Our Falcons won a conference title for the first time since 1976, advanced to the second round of the state dual team playoffs, and the doubles team of Megan Smith and Lindsay Ray finished tied for 5th in the state in 2A doubles play. This was the most successful women’s tennis season in Forbush history, so congratulations to our girls and to coach Justin Vestal on a fantastic year!

Congratulations to our FFA Land Judging team for their great performance last week at the Wilkes Land Judging Contest. Allie Long finished as the 2nd highest overall individual while Kaleb Matthews finished 3rd overall.

HOSA will be collecting new, unopened boxes of character and colorful Band-Aids for their Band-Aids for Brenner’s service project. The collection dates will run through this Friday, November 1.
