Principal's Message - 11/3/19

Good evening, this is Dr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I hope everyone has had a relaxing weekend. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

Student Accomplishments
Forbush has three chorus students who have qualified for the Mars Hill Choral Festival. Congratulations to Avery Durham, Dalton Gilmore, and Sophia Luper for qualifying for this extremely competitive choral festival!

Congratulations to our October Students of the Month: Carson Phillips, Ainsley Davis, Carter Brown, and Creed Atwood.

Congratulations to our volleyball team on a great season. Our Falcons advanced to the 3rd round of the state playoffs before falling to Brevard. Forbush won their second straight regular season conference title this year and finished the season with a 19-10 overall record.

ASVAB Testing
Forbush will be administering the ASVAB on November 12 at 8:30am. If you are interested in taking the ASVAB, sign up with LTC Brooks or MSG Hayes in Room 130A. Taking the test is NOT committing to military service but is a requirement for those who are considering one of the Armed Services. Also, taking the ASVAB will give students who are undecided on future plans an idea of careers for which they may be suitable.

Driver Education Class
The next Driver Education class is scheduled for November 18 through December 4. The class will be held after school from 3:15 to 6:15 in the Forbush media center. Students must be born on or before September 7, 2005 in order to take the course. No registration is necessary; please attend every session, pay the $65 class fee, and bring a notebook and pen to the class.

Beta and NHS Induction Ceremony
The Induction Ceremony for Beta and National Honor Society will be held tomorrow, Monday, November 4, beginning at 7pm in the Forbush Auditorium.

Cafeteria Debts
Parents, please remember to keep your cafeteria accounts up to date and please pay off any charges your child may have incurred so far this school year.

That is all for this evening. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me anytime. As a reminder, please be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram to stay up-to-date on everything happening at Forbush High School. Thank you for your time this evening, goodnight.
