Principal's Message - 8/28/16

Good evening, this is Mr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I hope everyone had a great weekend. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.
I want to thank everyone for a great first week of school. Our first three days ran smoothly and I enjoyed being able to meet so many of our hard-working students. The entire Forbush staff is looking forward to a great school year.

School Counseling Department
On Friday, September 2, at 9:45am, seniors will attend a presentation in the auditorium aimed at helping them prepare for educational options after high school. Seniors will learn about resources they can use to research career options, college choices, prepare  for the SAT & ACT, and pay for college. The purpose of this presentation is to encourage seniors to start making their post-graduation plans. Students will hear an overview of options, learn about resources available, and will be given several websites and information to help guide them through decisions they will need to make over the next few months. Parents are welcome to attend.
Surry Community College will be hosting a “College Fair” on September 13. Many North Carolina colleges will be represented. Students will be able to collect catalogs, scholarship info, and talk directly to college admission representatives. If you would like to attend, permission forms are available in the school counseling office. The trip is open to juniors and seniors but space is limited. The deadline to sign up is September 9.
