Principal's Message - 10/29/17

Good evening, this is Mr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

Student Achievements
I want to begin this evening by congratulating our FHS Chorus for an excellent concert earlier this week. Our talented students performed a number of songs, culminating in an “Awesome Eighties” mashup by the Show Choir. Great job FHS director Laurie Roberts and all of the Forbush Chorus students! I also want to send out a congratulations to FHS golfer Mallory Fobes for finishing 2nd in the 1A/2A State Championship Golf Tournament this past week.

School Counseling Office
Seniors, College Application Day is November 14. All seniors are encouraged to participate, especially if you have not already completed a college application. See Ms. Mitze or Mrs. Monroe for a prep packet. The deadline to sign up is November 9.

Seniors, do you know how to pay for college? There are two important steps: First, complete the FAFSA and see Mrs. Pennix if you or your parents have questions. Second, research scholarships & apply! Check your email for tips about both.

Clubs and Organizations
The 4th annual Forbush Bands Mattress Sale is Saturday, November 4, from 10am to 5pm in the High School Lobby! Brand new Simmons Beautyrest black ice, silver & platinum hybrids, adjustable power bases, Intellibed gel mattresses, memory foams, latex, pillows and more top brands will be displayed at up to 50% off retail store prices! Delivery is available! Again, this is Saturday, November 4, from 10am to 5pm at Forbush High School.

FCCLA is raising money for the Yadkin County Animal Shelter this year by collecting loose change from students and staff in first period classes. This fundraiser will end on Friday and the first period that raises the most money will win a Bojangles breakfast.
