Principal's Message - 3/4/18

Good evening, this is Mr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

Student Safety
In the aftermath of the recent shooting in Florida, I know many of you are concerned about the safety of your students and our school. I want everyone to know that the safety of your children is our number one priority at Forbush. We have recently begun reviewing our school safety plan and will make adjustments in order to be best prepared for any emergency situation. While we conducted a lockdown drill last semester, we plan to conduct another one in the coming weeks to make sure our students and staff are reminded of our emergency procedures. We hope to never have to use these procedures, but we want to be as prepared as possible just in case we ever do. If you ever have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to call or email me anytime. Thank you.

Student Accolades
I want to begin this evening by congratulating some of the students in our Skills USA program who excelled in the Regional Competition last week. Chris Gieger finished first in Marine Technology, Alesha Milholand finished first in Power Equipment Technology, and Zach Morris finished first in Motorcycle Technology. Athan Wilson finished 2nd in Principles of Engineering Technology, while Breanna Reed finished 3rd in First Aid/CPR. Alivia Khan, Caitlin Beaman, and Tucker Hauser also finished in the top 5 of their respective categories. Congratulations students!

No School March 9 and March 12
Looking ahead to this coming week, I would like to remind everyone that this Thursday, March 8, marks the end of the third quarter. There will be no school for students on Friday, March 9, or Monday, March 12. Students will return to school on Tuesday, March 13.
