Principal's Message - 3/24/19

Good evening, this is Mr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

Forbush Band and Concert Choir
Our Forbush Band and Concert Choir recently performed for Music Performance Adjudication. I am proud to announce that our band received a rating of Excellent on stage for prepared pieces and a rating of Superior in the sight reading room. Additionally, the Concert Choir received a Superior rating, which is the highest rating a High School Choral group can receive in the state. Congratulations to our band and concert choir!

Congratulations to DECA on their recent accomplishments at the North Carolina Career Development Conference. Austin Pardue was a medalist in entrepreneurship for top role play and for the Screening and Nominating Committee, while Kayden East, Mallory Fobes, Laura Wyrick and Chasten Coleman were awarded medals for Certified Guest Service Professional (CGSP). Meghan Anthony, Jesse Keaton, Abigail Lydick, Jaron Sears, and Angela Styers were also awarded proficiency in their events. Congratulations Forbush DECA!

Students who would like to attend must complete a survey on Canvas that has been released under the CIPA module. For those unable to attend, the presentation will be broadcast on YouTube Live. Attendance, behavior, and grades will be factored into determining who is eligible to attend, so please complete the survey by Friday, March 29, if you wish to attend.
