Principal's Message - 2/26/17

Good evening, this is Mr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

No School Tomorrow
I want to begin this evening by reminding everyone that there will be no school tomorrow (Monday, February 27). All students will return to school on Tuesday, February 28.

School Counseling Department
Seniors, if you are planning to go to college and need help paying for it, complete the FAFSA as soon as possible! If you need help with the FAFSA, contact Mrs. Pennix to get free help on March 6. Seniors, please check your email for more information about the March 6 Financial Aid assistance and contact information for Mrs. Pennix. You can also explore Ms. Mitze’s web site, which includes a wealth of information about scholarships and financial aid.

The national average for FAFSA completion is 50% and Forbush High School seniors are at 26% right now. Let’s make it our goal to reach the national average; seniors, fill out the FAFSA today!

Clubs and Organizations
Parents, the Skills USA registration deadline is March 1. If you want your child to be in Skills they must register by the deadline. All students competing at the Skills Regional Competition need to be at school by 7:15am tomorrow (Monday, February 27) behind Mr. Senter's shop. Please bring your safety glasses, your resume, and proper attire.

Any Beta member who would like to volunteer for the Lucky Bingo Fundraiser at the Yadkin Moose Lodge on March 17, please see Rachel Davis in 407D to sign up. You must sign up by March 6. Also, please remember your Beta points are due April 1 in order to remain a member. Check the website for the bylaws or see Mrs. Davis if you have any questions.
