Principal's Message - 11/17/19

Good evening, this is Dr. Kennedy, principal of Forbush High School. I hope everyone has had a relaxing weekend. I have a few announcements and updates I would like to share with you this evening.

Congratulations Football and Cross Country
I would like to congratulate our football team on their winning season. Our Falcons persevered through a number of injuries this season and finished the year with a 7-5 record, tied for third in the conference, and qualified for the state playoffs. Congratulations Falcons!

Congratulations to cross country runners Nate Warden and Bianca Gonzalez for qualifying and competing in the 2A State Meet recently. Both runners finished in the top-50 in the state and recorded personal best times. Congratulations to Nate and Bianca!

Driver Education
The next Driver Education class is scheduled to begin tomorrow, November 18, and will run through December 4. The class will be held after school from 3:15 to 6:15 in the Forbush media center. Students must be born on or before September 7, 2005 in order to take the course. No registration is necessary; please attend every session, pay the $65 class fee, and bring a notebook and pen to the class.

Forbush Theatre - The Little Mermaid, Jr.
The Forbush Theatre department presents The Little Mermaid Jr, with performances on November 22 and 23 at 7pm in the auditorium. Please see Mrs. Campbell for more information about purchasing tickets.

Friends Feeding Friends
The Friends Feeding Friends food drive is underway. Students, please bring canned food items to your first period class. Other items that are in high need include: toothpaste, soap, toilet paper, laundry detergent, and dish detergent. (We are not in need of diapers at this time.) You may also give monetary donations. Each week the first period class that donates the most will receive breakfast and the class that donates the most overall will receive a special gift from Lowes Foods. Please help us help families in need during this Holiday season.

Senior Yearbook Page
Seniors, it's time to think about your Senior Page for the Yearbook. Go to the Forbush High School Website and click on the Yearbook Page under the Student Tab for all the information. Ads are due December 20.

Quiz Bowl
Students, if you are interested in trivia, join the Quiz Bowl team. Meetings are Thursday mornings at 7:45 in Senora White’s room (702-H).

Home Sports This Week
Tuesday: Swimming vs Walkertown at the Yadkin Y (4:30pm) and Wrestling vs Statesville, North Stokes, and East Forsyth (5:00pm)
Saturday: Wrestling vs St. Stephens, Ashe, and Reagan (9:00am)

That is all for this evening. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me anytime. As a reminder, please be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram to stay up-to-date on everything happening at Forbush High School. Thank you for your time this evening, goodnight.
